Modern Tropical is a creative brand by Kristian Gallagher. The brand specializes in illustrative landscapes, colorful botanicals, and surface design. It is inspired by all things tropical, coastal, and generally summer related. The natural world and associated themes are the most common motifs, created in a variety of mediums including watercolor, ink, and digital.
Meet The Artist
Kristian Gallagher is an artist, illustrator, and designer. She founded her creative studio Modern Tropical in 2018 while on sabbatical in Hawaii. That same year, she was a winner of Pottery Barn x Minted’s Walls That Wow for her work “The Happiest Flowers”. Since then her work has been featured by Artsy Shark, Art.com, Desenio, Americanflat, and others. Her work “Let The Sunshine In” was included in Society6’s annual Bestsellers Collection for four consecutive years. Her work has been licensed by major retailers including Urban Outfitters, Hot Topic, Target, Kohl’s, Macy’s and Amazon. It can also be seen onsite at hospitality properties from Hawaii to Florida.
